Unlock the Secrets of the Model J Farm Tractor?

Duesenberg’s Model J was an elite luxury vehicle designed by Fred Duesenberg and released for production in 1928. Errett Lobban Cord acquired Duesenberg shortly thereafter but sales failed to meet expectations due to depression-era sales restrictions; ultimately only 472 Model J’s had been built by 1937 before Cord empire collapsed.
The Model J was an immensely desirable car at its time, as its powerful engine and luxurious appearance made it highly desirable. The standard 420 cubic-inch straight-eight engines produced 265 horsepower – more than double any competitor car!
The Model J was the fastest American passenger car of its era, and it had an outstanding track record for handling. Spring rates were equalized for an effortless ride, and hydraulic braking made stopping easier; its dash knob allowed drivers to customize braking assistance levels according to dry, rain, or snow conditions.
As a status symbol, the Model J was sought by celebrities and wealthy people around the world, including Al Capone, Evalyn Walsh McLean, Greta Garbo, Ginger Rogers, Mae West Tyrone Power Howard Hughes William Randolph Hearst as well as members of European royalty.
This Model J, number 2557, was delivered on May 9, 1935, and featured a long wheelbase chassis equipped with a special Berline body by J.B. Judkins Company of Amesbury, Massachusetts. Although primarily known for working on Lincolns, Judkins also worked on Duesenbergs, Packards, and Pierce-Arrow cars as well. Originally sold to Mr. Thurn of Pittsburgh before eventually going into storage, where it sat for 55 years until Doug Pray of Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company came along and rescued it a year later.
