Does The Claas Xerion 5000 Feature A Variable Cab?

From its inception, the Claas Xerion was designed to be more than just another large tractor. According to its manufacturer, it features intelligent power, not simply through having tremendous shear force, but by using that force in an efficient manner so as to ensure optimal operation of this piece of machinery.
One key feature in the Xerion’s versatility lies in its variable cab, which, at the push of a button, can rotate around its rear axle to convert the machine into an easily accessible self-propelled workhorse suited for baling, wood chipping, and silage clamp applications – plus its turning circle is considerably reduced compared with normal mode.
A key reason behind the Xerion’s success lies in its high tractive power, making it suitable for heavy-duty intensive cultivators and short disc harrows with wide working widths. Furthermore, its Continuously Variable Transmission (CMATIC) utilizes four multidisc clutches for optimal power transfer to the wheels and PTO; three operating modes – standard, CMATIC, and Terra Trac can all be selected depending on application needs.
The Xerion’s deluxe cab plays an integral part in providing operators with maximum comfort. With its four-post design that ensures optimal stability and large windows providing outstanding visibility. Furthermore, an active suspension system can further increase operator comfort while noise levels inside are limited to 69dBA or lower.
The detail extends right down to the controls; using a small motor and vertical black gear at the front of the cabin enables easy operation of both crane and backhoe. A similar lever at the rear can raise and lower the grabber. In addition, two hand-powered linear actuators can be used to lift the crane boom and stabilize the front-end loader.

The XERION is packed with intelligent systems that make it powerful enough to tackle a range of tasks. Its engine delivers up to 530 horsepower through CMATIC’s continuously variable transmission to axles and PTO for a total tractive power of 2800hp – one of the most versatile 4WD tractors on the market! Additionally, large front and rear linkages with semi-active suspension ensure exceptional comfort and productivity.
The CMOTION three-point hitch features two Category 4N three-point hitches rated with double-acting spool valves to provide a continuous lift capacity of up to 18,000 lbs. Additionally, when no front hitch is installed, it features up to six double-acting spool valves (seven when no front hitch is fitted) with large diameter lines and flat couplings, providing high oil delivery rates at minimal loss rates. Both attachments can be controlled using convenient thumb switches on its CMOTION handle – also providing control over auxiliary functions.
A powerful tractor would be rendered futile without the proper tools, which is why XERION comes equipped with various optional attachments to assist its job performance. For instance, its swanneck connection allows you to complete tasks more quickly by shortening and more maneuverable combination tractor/implement combinations; two steering axles enable maneuverability, while its 110mm ball hitch behind its cab supports maximum drawbar loads of 15 tonnes.
In addition to its impressive pulling power, the XERION is also known for being an exceptionally quiet operator. According to tests performed by the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab, the noise levels in its cab were lower than comparable tractors with tracks. Furthermore, the 4500 model set a 25-year record during a ballasted portion of the test, exceeding the previous record by over 5 decibels!
When it’s time to work, XERIONs deliver with less effort and greater precision than any other tractor in their class – that’s what’s known as intelligent power! So you can trust them as reliable partners.

Xerion’s two steering axles enable it to maintain stability and precision when attached to an implement, with its rotating cab giving operators a full view of attachment operation and operation of any attachments attached. Furthermore, an auto-steer function detects tramlines to alert drivers of new ones, thereby saving fuel consumption while increasing productivity.
The Xerion is designed with power savings in mind with its Low Engine Speed Drive Concept 2.0. This system comprises a power hydraulics system featuring up to three load-sensing pumps supplying external consumers with up to 537 l/min at 1900rpm, providing ample output for cultivation implements, drills, and precision air seeders with high oil requirements to operate more efficiently at reduced engine speed. Furthermore, prioritized control circuits ensure they supply only demanding consumers first.
CLAAS is the only tractor manufacturer offering such intelligent solutions in one model, the Xerion. While its shear force may be evident at first glance, its smart solutions make it versatile enough for performing various tasks – crab steering protects soil conditions when serving as a liquid manure applicator or self-propelled beet harvester; the suspension helps it remain steady during mowing operations, transporting and stacking silage stacking and sowing preparations.
Xerion’s many features make it both an efficient and environmentally friendly tractor. Its engine meets stringent emission standards while its tracks reduce energy consumption by up to 25% compared with an equivalent wheel machine. Furthermore, operators can expect long service lives of 3,500-4,000 hours for these tracks, significantly longer than with typical wheel machine tires.
ERTL’s Claas Xerion 5000 model in 1/32 scale from their Prestige Collection is an intricate 1/32 replica with a clear cab window, detailed interior, and rotating front and rear axles. Powered by a Power Functions motor and equipped with oversized tires to increase maneuverability and grip, it is suitable for children 14 and up. It is recommended for ages 14 years old or above.

With their powerful power-to-weight ratios and impressive power takeoff capacities, XERION tractors boast an impressive ability to transport large loads. Their robust full-frame construction enables efficient engine power transfer with minimal loss, giving the XERION tractor excellent load-carrying capacities as well as driving comfort.
No matter where an operator works – from mountainous terrain to narrow fields – the XERION’s power transmission system ensures smooth operations and high productivity. Equipped with Eccom 5.5 CVT transmission technology that reduces fuel consumption and transfer losses while improving hydraulic pump performance by delivering up to 111 gallons per minute throughput for superior control and maximum throughput, you’re free to work faster while hauling more, increasing your operation size exponentially.
The four-post deluxe cab of the XERION tractor was carefully designed for operator comfort and visibility, featuring canted glass panels to not only maximize interior space but also shade it from direct sunlight while increasing operator visibility. Furthermore, an innovative semi-active suspension system further maximizes operator comfort while simultaneously minimizing noise; in fact, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab reported recording low interior sound levels of 69dBA or less in their report of the XERION tractor!
Due to its full-frame design, the XERION tractor is highly resistant to damage. Its heavy-duty reversible front axles and three-point hitch are engineered for maximum traction across a broad operating range using double-acting spool valves with power beyond connections for reliable and functional operation. A modular stacking system enables users to add up to 7500 lbs front and 11,000 lbs rear ballast weight, respectively.
Due to its large fuel tank and long service intervals, the XERION boasts a low total cost of ownership.
